Using Sonar with SCM git

Hi,

In our sonar server a few weeks ago i've tried to feed scm data from a mercurial repository which is a kind of clone from our main Surround SCM. Although we got some data from there was always the same bot committing to the repository. We now decide to have everything in git and synchronize everything based on users.

Since there is already some scm data in our projects my question is if there is a way of remove those scm measures from projects before changing to git. Or if not removing, what is the optimal procedure to do this?

Hi,

You can use following procedure :

1. disable SCM Activity Plugin
2. run analysis, so latest snapshot will not contain SCM data
3. enable SCM Activity Plugin pointing on new Git repository
4. run analysis

So we manage to get git working with our sources. I do have a question about this.
Is it possible to follow the blame information into the git repository by clicking revision in the source tab?

Dont find any reference to this in documentation.

Hi,

Ive attached a pic illustrating what i was saying. The left side is from gitstack.

So im guessing its not possible for now. Any plans to have this in the future?

Another thing, about the user names. As can be seen in figures, the revision is attached to the login name of the user. If i try to assign something with this login i get a user not found. Shouldn't sonar be able to do this based also on login name?

In my case is it better to commit using the real name?
